Our Kapa Haka Performance

On Tuesday 11 November we did our Kapa Haka performance to the school and families at the school. The Year 4 to 6's have been doing Kapa Haka for the last 3 terms with Rawiri Henare every Tuesday. The performance went really well and we enjoyed doing the Haka.

Yesterday in groups Room1 made gingerbread to build their houses. Today they prepared their gingerbread and got constructing.

Room1s Front Pages

Room 1 had to produce in ICT a page for a paper. Below is some of their work.

Well done to our 6 students who went to the regionals

Quinten, Amaru, Nicholas, Cree, Leah and Sam represented Hauraki Plains at Ngatea on the 26 November.
They put in an excellent performance at the event with Sam Harvey taking 2nd place and the silver medal in the 80m.

Interschool Athletics at Ngatea

November 19 was our inter school athletics day at Ngatea. We took a team of 23 students to the event with some great results. We have 6 students who are going to the regionals to represent Hauraki Plains on Monday the 26 of November.

Flower Show

On 15 of November we had our schools Flower Show Day. It was great to see so many family members coming to see what the students had created. Some pictures from Room 1.

Reading Eggs

GROUP B busy reading their e books and answering questions.

 The whole school is involved in reading e books on line answering questions, working on grammar and vocab.  Room 1 students have really enjoyed working with it.

Great Maths Results in ICAS Exam

Well done to all the students in Room 1, with 76% of the class in the top 30% of New Zealand.

This on top of the super results from the English exam. Keep up the effort!

Term 4 Learning

We have a very busy term with athletics, flower show, book fair, badminton and our school concert. Our LOCUS for the term is make and create and our language focus is poetry. For make and create we are looking at making a movie in our groups and designing and producing a front page for a newspaper. We are at the moment trialling Reading Express online with the rest of the school and we are enjoying it. Don't forget homework goes out Monday and should be back by Friday, Monday morning by the latest! It going to be a GREAT term!
